What Does Blogging Look Like?
Uncategorized November 9, 2011My students are beginning to prepare to become bloggers. Their first assignment was to research blogging and prepare a one paragraph essay describing what they envision blogging will be like. Once the essays were presented, as a fun activity, they were given the task of using their essays in tagexdo to create a word cloud about blogging. Some of them were given permission to use some additional words from their research so that their pictures really took shape. Below is my example of that assignment. This assignment became the first post on the students’ new blogs.

This is a great idea and I think a great way to start the class blogging. I am going to take this idea to use with my new blog.

I believe that this wonderful idea that may be modified for my 2nd grade students. Next school year I plan to incorporate blogging into the curriculum.
I think blogging is a novel way for students to share their thoughts and ideas. It will also allow the students to “think aloud” while creating or working on projects.
I see myself utilizing a blog for reader response assignments. What a great way to marry reading, writing, and technology!
Additionally, I believe that I would like to create a classroom blog for parents and students.
Thank you for sharing!

I like the idea of using tagexdo to link blogging with a visual image of words. Great links to multiliteracy!

I too like the idea of using tagexdo with blogging. Gives the visual image that some students need. I also think it allows students to “think outside of the box” and get creative.
